I don’t miss you, not even a little bit

I’ve been traveling for almost six weeks, 40 days to be exact. Six weeks is the longest I’ve ever traveled and I worry from time to time that I won’t be able to marathon a year out of this trip. But honestly it hardly feels like any time has passed. And, dear family and friends, I have to admit that I don’t miss you, not even a little bit.

It probably helps that I talk on the phone with my dad every week, that I am able to check Facebook (and thus catch up with people) nearly every day, and that I am constantly surrounded with other travelers from familiar places. And it probably helps that I was on the road so much for so long with work.

It’s a bit shocking to me and I think it makes me sound like a jerk. But also I’m happy not to be miserably homesick. You should be happy for me too. I mean, if you really love me. 😉
